The event of a lifetime - next week Michael Jackson's fans will have an opportunity to see the last rare behind-the-scene footage of the King of Pop's last rehearsals.

It has been almost four months since the King of Pop suddenly and tragically passed away. Now Michael Jackson fans are getting a chance to see an exclusive documentary on Jackson called "This is it". 'This is it' is also a song, which was unveiled at midnight on October 12th on the official web-site of the King of Pop - michaeljackson.com

The documentary This is it represents a compilation of interviews, rehearsals, backstage footage of the King of Pop as he prepared for his series of sold-out shows in London. This is it was a planned series of 50 concerts to be held in the capital of Great Britain. The concerts were scheduled to begin in July 2009 and continue through March 2010.

This is it tour was officially announced by Michael Jackson at a press conference in London on March 5, 2009. "I just wanted to say that these will be my final show performance in London. When I say this is it, it really means this is it, said Michael Jackson at a press conference at The O2 arena on March, 2009, describing the shows as his "final curtain call".

Who is Kenny Ortega

The documentary This is it was directed by Kenny Ortega. He is a 59-year-old Emmy award-winning American producer, television and film director and also a choreographer.

Kenny Ortega is a former stage musical performer who turned to choreography in the 1980s. He is called a pioneer in music video choreography. Ortega worked on projects with numerous celebrities, such as Billy Joel, Elton John, Madonna and Diana Ross. Kenny choreographed almost a third of dancing scenes in a well-known, romantic movie "Dirty Dancing" (1987).

Kenny Ortega also directed Jackson's Los Angeles memorial service. It was broadcasted live on several networks on July 7 and reached a television audience of hundreds of millions people around the world.

Kenny Ortega had collaborated with Michael Jackson previously. He was Jackson's creative partner and friend. Together with the King of Pop, Ortega created and designed the Dangerous world Tour in 1992-1993 and the History World Tour in 1996-1997. Ortega started the work on the scheduled Jackson's This is it this May. Kenny worked on directing all the concerts and the overall design of this tour.

"This film is Michael's gift to his fans. It's a very private, exclusive look into a creative genius's world. For the first time ever, fans will see Michael as they have never seen him before, the great artist work," Kenny Ortega said in a news release.

How to see This is it and Where

This is it movie opens in October 28th for a limited two-week run. It will be presented in theaters around the world by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment. The rights to the exclusive footage were acquired from the Estate of Michael Jackson and AEG Live. Sony Pictures and Sony Music will co-produce with AEG Live and the Estate.
